Maisie Kaufmann Learning Centre is a not-for-profit organisation. We deeply appreciate donations.

September 2008, Donation from John Perrin Painting Services

Thank you so much to John Perrin Painting Services for your donation towards programs for adults with a disability working at the Maisie Kaufmann Learning Centre. The centre is now providing support to adults with a disability in the areas of health, fitness and wellbeing, carpentry, computers, Aboriginal art, crafts, general art and literacy. We are very grateful to support we have received from the community as well as from Coles, Fosters and the Regional Art Development Fund.

August 2008. Major donation by Community Employment Options:

Thank you so much to Jeff McPhee, Manager of Community Employment Options for your valuable donation to the Maisie Kaufmann Learning Centre. We have placed the furniture in our new premises at 533 Alice Street and it looks wonderful. The lounge chairs are so nice and will be fully utilised in our interview room. The other furniture will be such an asset in all our training activities.

Because of your kind donation we have been able to purchase other valuable equipment which we would have been unable to obtain otherwise. We are very excited about our new training premises. We will be training in the areas of Certificate III in Aged, Disability and Home and Community Care. In this same building we will be teaching literacy through the training of wood craft. The students will be hand making wooden pot plant stands, utility tables and the such. We would always welcome a visit from you to view this training.

Hyne & Sons - Tuan Mill - Timber Donation

The Maisie Kaufmann Learning Centre would like to thank you for your valuable donation of a timber supply for our wood-working classes. The classes are for people with varying disabilities, who to date, thanks to the timber donation, have been learning how to make tool boxes, plant stands, work benches and shelving.

The type of experience we are able to offer with the wood-working classes is invaluable to people with varying disabilities. Providing new and interesting activities improves skills and also the client’s potential in the possibility of creating an income outside of mainstream employment. For the most part, mainstream employment is unavailable to these participants. Building of skills and abilities engenders confidence, which carries over into the client’s interactions while negotiating life in the wider community. The over-all and long term benefits of these implications cannot be overstated!
